Frequently asked questions

Where are you and how do I get the bike there?

We are based in Bibra Lake, Perth - check the Google map in the contact section. The bike needs to be in stripped down state (to make it easier for us to do the repair and the painter to mask out) sometimes the timing is right and we can pick it up from your particular bike store - we deal with all the stores in Perth - or you can drop it in. For interstate clients Australia post has proven the fastest and most cost effective way of shipping frames around the country (read below).

How much is this going to cost?

Prices vary depending on damage; repairs have started from $40.00 for a paint touch up to a set of front forks. On average the repair amount has been $520.00 including paint, the most we have seen is just over $1600.00 for a complete rebuild of a very loved bike that was delivered to us in 3 separate pieces. Every repair is different and keep in mind we give estimates not quotes because we can't know for sure the extent of the laminate damage until we begin the repair.

How long will it take?

We aim for 2 weeks, one week for the laminate repair and one week for the painting, not including freight

What will happen to my paint job and graphics?

You will find it hard to see the repair. We work extremely hard to colour match pearlescent, harlequins and pin stripes, sometimes however there are slight variations when examined closely in these types of paint. The graphics we source from our bike store contacts, online or cut specially for us from a graphics supplier. We will inform you as early as possible if we cannot match or replicate your graphics.

I'm interstate how will the process work?

Send through some close-up images of the damaged area and a larger view of the complete bike by email - check the 'contact us' page - and we can give you an estimate of the repair. If you are happy with this, have the frame or rim stripped down and packed in a box (ask your bike store for a suitable box) like the images below. Australia post provides the express post option, it is a traceable and next day delivery CBD to CBD. It is imperative the frame is packed like the images otherwise the package will exceed the maximum girth measurement set by Australia post and if the box is rectangular in shape Australia post staff will charge on volume not weight. As an example, sending a frame from Sydney to Perth will cost approximately $45.00 depending on how small and light you can make the package.

Once the bike arrives the 2 weeks begin, we will complete the repair and painting and send you images for confirmation and your satisfaction. We will inform you of the cost of the repair and freight charges (if applicable) and, once you are happy, payment can be made by EFT, or direct payment at your bank prior to dispatch of the goods. The bike is then sent (by express post) and you are back on the road.
